My brother is in his final year at UofT taking Civil Engineering. He is a soccer player adnd a goalie at that......Well.....finally in his last year of UofT he goes out for the varsity soccer team and makes it. Now in tryouts, the coaches are rather impressed with the kid. But the head coach is confused cause he has been around so much in youth soccer that he can't believe he hadn't heard of Mate (my brother) before. WHere as he knows the other goalie well and is friends with his father......Can you tell where this is going??......anyways he goes with the other goalie as the starter....they do well....The starter posts 7 shutouts. Mate posts a Tie and a loss in the two he plays. mate was never pulled once....played better in his loss and tie than the starter and had to bail the starter out 3 times......SO...Saturday is Semi finals for Ontario Championship.....the other kid starts and they win 2-1....He made one spectacular save but let in a weak goal and looked shakey all game.....They beat Western who was ranked 1 in the country. On Sunday they play Carleton in the final. The other kid gets the start....I made it to this game to watch...MAN....they lose 2-0...The goalie lets in two shit goals....He looked so shakey even his own defence wouldn't pass him the ball when he called for it......on paper he looks great.....but....what I saw yesterday.....man.....As a result the top two teams go to PEI for the nationals. There are 8 teams in total from across Canada that play. AFter the game on Sunday when the coach shook everyones hand he paused at Mate and gave him that "I picked the wrong goalie today" look and Mate smiled as in "I know". If he is smart he will give Mate a chance....but I doubt he will....cause he knows Luc (Luciano the other goalie) not Mate...
See what he doesn't know about Mate is that he is a big game goalie. Mate has backstopped 7 of his soccer clubs, growing up, to Championships. Has been MVP 8 times for his various clubs. Took his Highschool team to the OFSSA Championship and won (Ontario champions). He was actually in Jr. But the coach took him along and started him the second game then for the rest of the tournament over the SR. goalie starter. He got MVP of the tournament. He has tried out for the national team and played in the CPSL. Won athlete of the year in highschool cause of soccer and has practiced in some of the best goalie camps that can be found in Ontario........unfortunately his coach doesn't know that....all he sees is this kid who seems to take nothing seriously (even though he does) that plays for a bush league Mississauga Croatia (Cause his friends play there and he has fun there and wanted to see how much better he can make this team). Yea...this pisses me off.....My brother should play in PEI....if they want to win.....Yes you all think I am biased cause he is my brother but, everyone that know him will say the same....You will not find better and he is the man you want in a big game.

I worked on Sunday...till about one....loaded up the car...then started driving. I made it over the border easily. No hassles and no lines....thank god. I then continued to drive through small town New York State proceedding through small town Pennsylvania.....Map quest gives you the shortest route but not neccessarily the quickest.....I ended up stopping after 4.5 hours in Dubois and slept....long day....
Next morning back on my way and 4 hours later I am here....I am visiting Kim for the week and all is well. I come back next week....and will prolly go a different route.
Guy you work with flipping out on Jobsite + Boss being flippant to him + me having to hear both sides...not that I wanted to..i was there...i saw it + having to stop guy from choking the boss and then standing between them to make sure guy doesn't kill boss. the boss is small. The guy is not bigger than me...but a very strong old man.
When restraing a potentiall dangerous and angry person from fighting. When standing between, I suggest not grabbing the person....but just run interference. Holding the persons arms could enrage them...and lead you to being hit.....unless you are much stronger than restrain away.....
One of my close buddies is like that...when he snaps...He listens to no one...but me.....and he tells me to let go of him but the funny part is he is usually holding my sleeves...but doesn't realize it.

the wedding was great! And my god what a long day.....Woke up at 6:30....oh yea...i went to bed at 2 the night before ugh.............Porkchop picked me up at 7:15, and we were off. As we get off the 403 in his H3 and in our tuxes....yes we are hot....we Put the flag out the window, and crank the tunes....pull up to Nik's house.......and nobody is outside... Yep...we felt retarded, it would have been nice if someone was outside to see us! lol. Soon after people started waking up, and the rest of the ushers showed and the festivities began...
-drinking and eating all day -Bridal bus....so much fun -singing with the accordian player -pictures at a park....losing half the ushers as they started following other girls -Not knowing how to open/use a bottle of XO henessey -everyone making it to dinner in the wedding party -Me manning the shot table and be relieved at a good time -Being a total Dick to Pete's cousin but only because she was being a smart ass and was trying to be to cool....only to end with us both having a laugh and all is good -smoking stogies and according to lumpy someone snapped the greatest picture of me lighting the cigar...Apparantly you could not get more wiseguy then that. I shall have to check it out then post it -Dancing and singing -leaving at 2 am. back at the hotel going to bed finally at 5 am.......
So on Friday we had Lumpy's stag.....STraight from work i stopped by to see Bull. he had some stuff for the stag. SO I picked that up....and YES! The man is looking good! Then home, shower and change real fast and head up to the stag...it went well......we worked hard....serving, stocking the bar, food, selling raffle tickets, bussing tables, cleaning up, figuring out why the back bar was flooding.....I never had a chance to try and get Lumpy trashed....but it didn't matter.....I think he did it himself lol
Saturday - soccer tournament...big one that happens every year. Myself and Porkchop got there at 9 in the morning and spent the entire day there. Dave came by as well and brought his almost 4 year old niece. Lucky Dave didn't have to carry her too much cause she demeanded I carry her....I didn't have much choice. And although her grandfather was there she hung out with us all day instead....haha -in the evening went to the banquet...that was fun. Althogh the tournament this year was not as fun cause two of our friends from Chicago didn't make it. They will be in town for Lumpy's wedding though so it is all good
Sunday - Went over to Lumpy's Finace's house. We had a bridal party and family bbq. Consumed: 1 whole pig, 22 Burgers, 2 packs of sausages, potatoes, salads, Cupcakes, Peanutbutter Squares with chocolate, Cheesecake, 9 cases of beer, 5 Liters of Loza (moonshine) and 2 bottles of cognac.....it started at 2 and ended at about 2? lol. man...her dad is a party animal. - earlier in the day Lumpy's Fiance's dad would take the kids for a ride in the little cart behind the riding mower. Later he decided to try and drive four of us Big Kids around......1000 lbs in this little cart...and took it through the bush and rocky field next door.....ouch.....we broke a wheel.
Monday -Hurting.. - Mike and Wilma's house for a BBQ....mmmm sunshine and pool....we were bagged by 7....early night - Dave brought his niece again....she is so cute....thankfully all of us took turns with her in the pool...just like the energizer bunny...she keeps going and going and going
That concludes my summer...and I can say it was a good one and I am glad I did not work it away like last year...
